In order to read, we need to first learn the sounds and stress nuances of a language. Facilitating Active Participation of EAL Students through Cooperative Learning Strategies
The High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) documents recommend collaborative learning, metacognitive strategies, and differentiated teaching as part of their ten research and evidence based inclusive teaching and learning approaches. Cooperative Learning strategies include the former three elements and encourage EAL students to become increasingly confident in participating actively in our classrooms.
